Khamzat Chimaev, one of the most prominent fighters in the UFC, unfortunately had to withdraw from his highly anticipated fight against former champion Robert Whittaker, scheduled for June 22 in Riyadh. The reason ? A persistent illness that affected him for much of his training camp and could not be cured in time. This news is a hard blow for Chimaev, who remained undefeated since his arrival in the organization and who had generated immense enthusiasm among fans. The fight against Whittaker promised to be a true clash of the titans and its cancellation is a big disappointment for all MMA fans.
Despite this ordeal, Chimaev’s team is optimistic and promises a strong comeback for the fighter as soon as he is healthy. “It’s unfortunately part of the game”said his manager. “As soon as Khamzat is healthy, his long-awaited return to the Octagon will be immediately rescheduled”.
