After 50 years of career, Patrick Sébastien has many anecdotes to tell. This Thursday, October 31, the 70-year-old TV host revealed The Carnival of the Ambitiousa book in which he recounts his meetings with personalities who influenced him and delivers a philosophical reflection on ambition. In his work, Olivier Villa's father, for example, returns to the death of Coluche, reveals that he had the same conquest as François Mitterrand and compares certain presidents of the Republic to actors. For the comedian, Nicolas Sarkozy is the spitting image of Louis de Funès and, his friend, François Hollande is a mixture of Pierre Richard and Jacques Villeret in the film The idiots' dinner. Guest in Buzz TV from TV Magazine, Nathalie Boutot's husband has also made frank confidences about the mandate of Julie Gayet's husband.
On the set of the show, this Thursday, October 31, Patrick Sébastien affirms that François Hollande is according to him “perhaps the smartest” head of state that France had, but that being President of the Republic was not made for him: “Precisely, that’s the problem, these are enarchs who have an ideal that is too big for them. It’s like wearing a size 38 and wearing a 45. It’s an analysis that isn’t bad.”
Patrick Sébastien: this dubious joke made to François Hollande
Patrick Sébastien and François Hollande are a long-standing friendship. “I’m interested in the man! […] We met in Corrèze during a rugby match where he was president of the General Council and I was president of the rugby club. One day, I came home and said to my wife: 'In 10 years, this man will be President of the Republic'.” told the producer in 2014 on the show The tubeon Canal +
Just after the publication in the press of photos of François Hollande on a scooter following a visit to Julie Gayet, Patrick Sébastien then went to see his friend and gave him a mask bearing the image of the former president, Nicolas Sarkozy. “I walked into his office and said, ‘I brought you something so you don’t get tricked next time,’ and I gave him the mask.” tells the host in 2019 on Europe 1. A joke which supposedly made Valérie Trierweiler's ex-companion laugh: “He laughed, he took the mask and said: 'No, I don't want him to come back here. Maybe if I go to Fouquet's, I'll wear it, maybe'.” Proof of a great bond between the two men.
