“I have colorectal cancer,” announced the American actor James Van Der Beek face of the series Dawson at the end of the 1990s, in an exclusive interview given to Peoplethis Sunday, November 3, 2024.

“I faced this diagnosis privately and took steps to resolve it, with the support of my incredible family,” added the 47-year-old actor to the media.

Colorectal cancer develops from the cells that line the inner lining of the colon or rectum, which make up the large intestine of the digestive system, according to Public Health .

“I feel good”

But, “there are reasons to be optimistic and I feel good,” reassured the actor, who remains active despite his treatment.
