The moment of truth arrives for the Prime Minister. The finance bill arrives at the National Assembly this Monday to be debated by deputies. “At the moment, you don’t need to be a specialist to know that the wind, Michel Barnier doesn’t quite have it at his back. On his budget, he’s taking a force 10 tramontane right in the nose,” notes Philippe Caverivière.

“If the departure was from Les Sables-d’Olonne, he would have arrived in , my Michel. If Michel were a boat, we would be more on the Titanic than on the Belém. In terms of buoyancy, Michel Barnier is a pétanque ball with a thin layer of lead around it,” adds the comedian.

Éric Coquerel, the president of the finance committee with Charles de Courson, was invited on RTL this Monday to talk about this budget. The two form an astonishing duo, “it’s Catherine and Liliane from public financesOmar and Fred from the dividend”, jokes Caverivière. “In the EchoesÉric is described as a nuanced and peaceful rebellious deputy. (…) Wouldn’t you ultimately be a man of the left in transition towards centrism?”
