Humor, emotion and beautiful tributes: this is the program for Ozzy’s induction evening into the Hall Of Fame.

Ozzy Osbourne, music legend

This makes Ozzy Osbourne has been in music for 55 years. This simple sentence is enough to inspire respect for the singer’s careerespecially since he was not content to simply “be in music”: he marked his history, first with Black Sabbath then soloand with various other groups in which he has always excelled. 55 years of career, with everything he put his body through in his younger years, we can say that it is a double achievement. It’s probably ithe legendary and emblematic side which earned him his first induction into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame, with Black Sabbath, then his second, solo, which just took place this year. For the occasion, Ozzy had prepared another hell of a speech for us.

Always so much humor

If there’s one thing the English heavy metal singer has never lost throughout his career, even when he was at his lowest, it’s his humor. A very British humor, which we obviously find in the speech of this induction evening into the Hall of Fame:

Well, here we are. You know what? I can’t believe I’m here. I’ll be brief, because I don’t want to bore you with a long monologue. I want to thank everyone who voted for me into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Ozzy Osbourne also wanted to thank his fans, as well as guitarist Randy Rhoads with whom he worked extensively, but also his wife (his “savior”) and his children. Then, it was the turn of the artists present to pay tribute to his career: Robert Trujillo, Chad Smith, Wolfgang Van Halen, as well as several singers, have reinterpreted cult songs from Ozzy’s career.

The most beautiful tribute was paid to him by Jack Blackby Tenacious D, also present that evening. I remember the first time I heard about Ozzy. I was 13, wandering around a record store and an older geek said to me, ‘Stop procrastinating, kid. This is the album you need, Blizzard of Ozz”. He then says that Ozzy was the most “badass” character he had ever seen in his life, thanking him a thousand times. A great evening in honor of the career of Ozzy Osbourne, who richly deserves it!
