Outer Banks season 4: this scene that Madelyn Cline hated to shoot, “when I show up on set…”

Broadcast since 2020 on Netflix, Outer Banks quickly slipped into the hearts of adolescent users of the platform. We follow a group of young people, the Pogues, playing in North Carolina, in the Outer Banks. It all starts with a story about a missing dad, but quickly the series takes much more spectacular turns, based on very American marine mythology, allowing us to mix up many subjects dear to productions intended for a young audience: love, friendship, money, drugs, class struggle and tutti, etc.

And it’s quite simple, with each season release, it’s madness on the platform. Positive reviews increase from season to season, notably helped by an amplification of the adventurous aspect of the program. When the first season only had a 71% positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes (which is already very honorable), the second climbed to 83%!

A scene from season 4 gave one of the actresses a hard time

In an interview given to Hollywood ReporterJonathan Daviss (player of Pope Heyward) and Madelyn Cline (player of Sarah Cameron) talk about an aquatic scene, which is very difficult to manage. Stuck in a crypt, underground, submerged in frozen water. The actor assures: “The water, even when you land inside, it’s like it’s dripping, so it’s freezing“.

As for Madelyn Cline, she adds that she is very claustrophobic and that this situation really put her in a delicate position: “I feel like I’ve made it clear that I become claustrophobic very easily. And then when I show up on set, I look at what we have to go through and I’m like, ‘Guys, we talked about this…’“.

However, faced with this claustrophobia, his playing partner responded very well: “I didn’t pass with flying colors. (…) It was great touring with JD. He was calm, and I was not at all. And I am very, very grateful to him.”. Jonathan Daviss does not fail to add that, in a sense, this situation was a blessing in disguise, because given the temperament of the characters, the real reaction of the actors was rather coherent: “It was played exactly the way you see it. Maddie was in there, and she wasn’t happy.”.

>> If you like Nobody Wants Thisyou can’t miss this film already available on Netflix

If Madelyn Cline had difficulty playing in this crypt, for her partner, it was quite the opposite! “It was fun to do because it really felt like I was filming an Indiana Jones movie or something. I was like, ‘This is what it’s like to be on this kind of set.’. However, for sure, this scene is 100% realistic! Outer Banks season 4, Part 1, can be found on Netflix now.
