Bryan Danielson’s defeat against Jon Moxley last night at WrestleDreamsaddened many fans, as well as the events that followed the match.
Fightful Select reports that this long early break for Danielson is necessary. The former AEW champion’s comments about his state of health are true and neck surgery will take place by the end of the year.
The AEW doctors would have preferred that he put aside some recent matches.
Danielson, who had been working without a contract with AEW for some time, wanted Moxley to replace him as champion.
AEW wants Danielson to return on a part-time basis, in addition to taking on behind-the-scenes duties.
No return to WWE is planned for “The American Dragon”.
