the singer makes a surprise appearance for the launch of “Sunday Night Football”

Celine Dion made a surprise appearance this Sunday evening to promote “Sunday Night Football” (SNF), an iconic event for American football fans.

A return with fanfare. After a lauded performance at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympic Games, Celine Dion kicked off the live broadcast of “Sunday Night Football,” a weekly National Football League television show broadcast on NBC Sports, in the United States.

The footage, filmed in a recording studio, kicked off the match between the Dallas Cowboys and the Pittsburgh Steelers, who had not met on the sports program since 1996.

“I think my favorite thing about this game is its power to connect who we are to who we were, to prove that our strongest memories, our most enduring loves can stay with us forever. You know what I’m talking about, don’t you?” declared the singer, paying tribute to American football, while her hit “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now” (1996) was broadcast.

Watered like the greatest coaches

Wearing a sweatshirt from Super Bowl XXX, which the Cowboys won 27-17 after two losses to the Steelers, in Super Bowl you touch me like that, when you hold me like that. It fits well, doesn’t it?

The artist concluded by saying: “Like so many old flames, it’s always a beautiful thing when we reunite. Don’t you think so? Tonight, it’s that old-fashioned magic between the Cowboys and the Steelers, a timeless Sunday night classic,” before receiving a surprise shower of Gatorade, an American energy drink, a tradition reserved for victorious coaches.

Earlier in the day, the network teased her appearance by sharing a clip of the singer wearing the Super Bowl sweatshirt on her Tik Tok account, with the caption: “It all leads back to Sunday night.”

The special appearance comes after her performance of “Hymn to Love” at the opening ceremony of the Olympics, her first public performance since revealing her diagnosis of stiff person syndrome, a disease causing muscle spasms affecting one’s ability to sing, in 2022.
