Stared at by Rihanna during the last New York Fashion Week, Naomi Campbell nevertheless wanted to deny the rumors of a quarrel with the latter.
In early September, a video quickly made the rounds on social media during New York Fashion Week. During the Alaïa fashion show for the fall winter 2024-2025 collection, Rihanna and Naomi Campbell were filmed, in a scene where the first seemed to ignore the second. Sitting in the front row, Naomi Campbell saw Rihanna greet Edward Enninful, the former editor-in-chief of British Voguebefore walking past her without a glance. Very quickly, rumors of a falling out between the two American icons spread. “They must really hate each other”; “Naomi gives him a murderous look,” we could read under the video of this icy exchange.
On September 21, Naomi Campbell wanted to clarify the situation during an interview with the New York Times. Annoyed by the extent of the speculation, the model firmly rejected the idea of a conflict between them. “I’m not going to let the world pit two black women against each other,” she said. To definitively put an end to these rumors, she added: “We are two women with children, we are mothers. »
Dangerous connection
Naomi Campbell and Rihanna seemed very close in the past, often photographed together at parties, sharing moments of complicity. In 2016, they were even seen in Italy, smiling and supportive. However, their relationship reportedly took a turn in 2017, when Rihanna allegedly began an affair with Hassan Jameel, a man allegedly linked to Naomi. Since then, the two women have grown apart, removing each other from their social networks, and the opportunities to see them together have become rarer. When they cross paths, they now seem to ignore each other.
