A Miss with a journey strewn with pitfalls
Charlie Benard is a 27 year old young woman, originally from Yvetot near Rouen. She is a medical student and intern at Angoulême hospital. A busy schedule certainly, but which did not prevent him from running in the regional elections. She tried her luck twice in Normandyits region of origin, in 2020 and 2022, according to information from our colleagues at Free Charente. Unfortunately, she came back empty-handed after seeing Amandine Petit and Perrine Prunier win the coveted titles.
The adventure could have ended there, but she obviously wanted take revenge. “I came back in force in 2024, this time in Poitou-Charentes, and I did well!”she confides, with a smile on her lips. This Friday evening, at the Parc du Futuroscope, 12 young women were in the running for the prestigious title of Miss Poitou-Charentes 2024.
The competition was fierce, but Charlie Benard didn’t give up and she managed to stand out against strong candidates. “It’s a great pride for me to represent this beautiful region”she admitted after her coronation.

What is impressive is also its ability to juggle with his professional commitments: “The two worlds are so different, but I am passionate about both!” she explains. The young woman gives a nice example of perseverance to many young people and reminds us that we can combine several passions and that failures are learning. “Every attempt made me stronger”she said.
She therefore becomes the new Miss Poitou-Charentes and succeeds Lounès Texier. Now she just has to prepare for the grand final of Miss France 2025.
