Mylène St-Sauveur: from policewoman in “Alertes” to alleged poisoner in “Indéfendable”

Actress Mylène St-Sauveur has played detective sergeant Lily-Rose Bernard in the police series for five years Alertsbut she had the chance to sit across the table in the interrogation room, portraying an alleged poisoner in Indefensible.

Starting this Monday, for four weeks, she plays dental hygienist Vicky Marois, who is the mother of a 13-year-old teenager. She has her ex-in-laws over for dinner and makes them beef Wellington, but the birthday party turns into a nightmare when everyone vomits up their life – even her – after ingesting poisonous mushrooms. Only his son, who is vegetarian, escaped unscathed.

Is she responsible for this violent food poisoning or was it another person who sent everyone running to the corner and then to the intensive care unit? The investigation begins this Monday with Sergeant Simon Parent (Ted Pluviose) who tries to reconstruct the sequence of events since unfortunately a man died in this case.

Mylène St-Sauveur, who loves her policewoman character in Alertstook great pleasure in becoming the one being accused.

“Until the end, we are going to doubt what really happened, and who is involved in this affair,” she said in an interview, adding that she has rarely played characters like this, who , she believes, “will create a reaction”.

“It’s really more complicated than you think. What I like about this character is that there are a lot of gray areas, although she sees life in black and white! He’s going to be a very polarizing character. Some will be empathetic with her. For others, however, she will be the ideal culprit. At the office, they will investigate his troubled past in relation to his romantic and family relationships. Vicky, who is very emotional and explosive, was very isolated, she had difficulty creating healthy relationships in her life.

According to the 34-year-old actress, the faithful ofIndefensible will discover “something special that accompanies this character”. She even talks about a goldsmith’s job that wasn’t necessarily easy to do, but she never says no to a great challenge, especially when it’s her very first daily.

“For me, it was difficult to bring that to the screen,” she said, adding that she was hired at the last minute and that she was at the same time filming scenes for the finale of the fourth season ofAlerts.

“It’s a character that allows me to show great versatility in my work as an actress, in my emotions. I was able to visit dark parts of my being,” she continued.

Mylène St-Sauvent even spoke of a “very demanding shoot, very emotionally demanding” during which she had the “guilty pleasure” of adding clues and non-verbal elements to her performance.

“In Alertsmy character remains cerebral, Cartesian, analytical, Lily-Rose is in the action without really being in her emotions. In IndefensibleVicky is a ticking time bomb.”

Speaking ofAlertsthe kiss exchanged between Pascal (Jean-Simon Leduc) and Lily-Rose could create turmoil in the couple that the beautiful policewoman forms with her colleague Renaud (Frédéric Pierre).

“Eventually, it may come out. We’ll see how the couple manages to overcome this kind of thing. We will also see what they want to develop, what is the next stage of their relationship. Do they want kids, do they want to move in together, where are they going?”

At the same time, Mylène St-Sauveur continues to develop her creative side in terms of writing, therefore exploring beyond acting.

“I’m working on it, I’m taking the necessary courses, I want to add strings to my bow,” she mentioned.
