The Saint-Raymond beach campsite, in Portneuf, was the scene of a major fire which fortunately caused no injuries on Sunday evening.

It was around 10:30 p.m. that the Saint-Raymond City Fire Department received a call regarding buildings on fire on the campsite.

In total, three trailers, a side-by-side ATV and a shed were destroyed by a large blaze which was finally brought under control almost five hours later.

“A few other trailers also suffered minor damage, but no one was injured,” underlines Geneviève Faucher, director of communications for the municipality.

The Saint-Basile Fire Department also got involved in this matter, while the Sûreté du Québec was called in to assist.

The site is currently being investigated by firefighters to determine the source of the fire. Although we are not favoring any hypothesis at the moment, we specify that there does not appear to be any criminal impact in this case.
