Decisive day for Air Austral and its current president. A supervisory board must in fact be held this Tuesday 1is October, during which Joseph Bréma could well be disembarked.

After two years as president of the airline, and 37 years within Air Austral, he should be thanked by the shareholders.

Two years ago, Joseph Bréma found himself thrust into the management of the company, after the sudden departure of Marie-Joseph Malé. First as a temporary worker, he was then reinforced, described as a man of consensus, who listens to employees.

Since then, the financial health of Air austral has deteriorated, and Joseph Bréma is no longer supported by investors.

Hugues Marchesseaux is expected to replace him. The 55-year-old man is very, very close to Marc Rochet, former boss of Air Caraibes and French Bee.

Hugues Marchesseaux is the former general director of Air Caraibes Atlantique. He spent most of his career in air transport with management positions at Corsair, Air and Bolloré. He participated in the creation of the airline CMA-CGM Air Cargo.

Hugues Marchesseaux could therefore take over the management of Air Austral. But according to our information, before his arrival, a one-month interim could be carried out by Harold Cazal, current member of the board of directors.

On September 19, the latter indicated in Réunion the 1era that it would respect the decision of the shareholders and would examine the proposals made to it. The general director of Run’Air, who joined the management board of Air Austral at the end of 2023, has the trust of Michel Delefie, at the head of the pool of private shareholders managing the company.
