The Monegasque princely family was able to observe the streets of the Principality in an unusual way, during a visit to Hamburg this Thursday. Without using a drone and without boarding a helicopter, Prince Albert II, Princess Charlene and their twins admired Monaco from above. Hereditary Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella accompanied their parents to the inauguration of the new model of Monaco at the Miniatur Wunderland park in Hamburg.

The Miniatur Wunderland in Hamburg has a new section, inaugurated this Thursday, April 25 by the Grimaldi family. Visitors to this park admire miniature reconstructions of the most beautiful cities in the world, following the route of a gigantic railway track for electric trains. The park has a total railway network of 16.5 kilometers. More than 1,000 electric trains travel on these rails, the total weight of which exceeds 1.6 tonnes.

The park is a true marvel for train enthusiasts young and old. In addition to admiring the technological prowess of the trains and their realism, model and travel enthusiasts are also delighted. Electric trains pass through models representing cities and emblematic places. Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene wanted to offer a moment of wonder to their twins, by taking them to this park. The park took advantage of this visit to inaugurate the new model of Monaco.

It took eleven years of work to create the new section of the miniature principality of Monaco in order to add the Formula 1 circuit. The park explains that the Monaco extension required more than 150,000 hours of work and that represents more than five million euros in construction costs.

Hereditary Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella were able to recognize certain emblematic places in the Principality which they observed for the first time with such awe. Monaco occupies 70 square meters in the park. The princely couple and their children were the first to be able to admire this 1:87 scale model. With the press of a button, the rulers brought the miniature of Monaco to life, kicking off the F1 circuit.
