A teacher at a high school in Springbank, Alberta, has been accused of sexually assaulting one of his students, according to the RCMP, who believe the suspect may have had other victims.
Timothy Bailey, 49, was arrested Tuesday by Cochrane RCMP officers after the victim reported the teacher’s inappropriate behavior, Global News reported Wednesday.
The suspect, who faces charges of child luring, sexual exploitation and making sexually explicit material available to a child, was released on conditions pending a court appearance on February 18, police said federal.
“Based on this investigation, Cochrane RCMP believe there are additional victims, and the decision to report can be very important to potential victims,” said Corporal Gina Slaney.
-“We want these potential victims to know that we are here for them,” added Ms. Slaney, who shares resources available to help victims of sexual assault, according to Global.
