The village hall seemed very small to accommodate the many people who came to attend the wishes of Jean-Luc Joyeux. The highlight of the evening was the presentation of a check for 2,121 euros by Michel Nadaux (Poutaise sports association) to the Bergonié Institute (fight against cancer) as part of Pink October. This sum was able to be donated thanks to the organization of a “Pink October March” on October 12 which saw the participation of some 280 people pledging to donate at least 5 euros. A third edition of this walk will be organized next October.
A short video on the achievements of 2024 was broadcast before the mayor took the floor to address the subjects that will be on the agenda for 2025: treatment of rainwater, flushing of the Chemin du Fouet ditch, updating of the addressing in order to facilitate emergency response and streamline mail distribution, renovation of the roof of the church and development of the multigenerational space of Saint-Martin (1).
Citizen volunteers
Note an original innovation on June 13 on the part of Poutais citizens: the creation of the collective of volunteer citizens. People ready to lend a hand to elected officials for all the small daily events in the village that need to be resolved quickly. Laurent Sere, at the head of this collective, indicates that at present, more than twenty residents are registered and that a definition of missions has been put in place.
During the presentation of his wishes, the mayor was accompanied by the presidents of the Poutaise associations, Christophe Viandon, departmental councilor, and Alain Zabulon, president of the community of communes of Créonnais.
(1) A public meeting will be organized in the spring to present the work, for delivery at the end of autumn 2025.
