According to Eurostat: Housing prices have doubled in Luxembourg since 2010

A Eurostat study published this Friday highlights the increase in housing prices and rents between 2010 and the third quarter of 2024 within the European Union, with strong disparities depending on the country. We learn, for example, that housing prices more than doubled in Luxembourg during this period (+103%).

If it is any consolation, the increase was even more spectacular in other countries, such as Hungary and Estonia (+230%), Lithuania (+181%), Latvia (+154%) or even in Portugal (+113%). Italy is an exception to the rule since it is the only country where property prices fell during the same period (-4%).

At the same time, rents have increased in 26 EU countries, again with significant differences between countries. The largest increases were recorded in Estonia (+216%), Lithuania (+183%), Ireland (+109%) and Hungary (+108%). The increase was less obvious in the Grand Duchy (+21%). Greece was the only country in the European Union where rental prices decreased between 2010 and the 3rd quarter of 2024 (-16%).
