Women will work longer
From January, the retirement age for women will be gradually raised to reach 65 by 2028. An appeal was filed with the Federal Court to annul this vote following calculation errors made by the Office Federal Social Insurance Agency (OFAS). However, on December 12, the court unanimously rejected this appeal. Women will indeed work longer.

At the same time, good news awaits consumers. The VAT rate on sanitary napkins and other tampons will be lowered from 7.7% to 2.5%. This change comes as part of a broader review of the VAT law.

Foreign women victims of domestic violence will also be better protected. Currently, they risk losing their residence permit in the event of separation. In the future, holders of B, L and F permits will be able to have their stay regularized in the event of separation due to domestic violence, but always according to certain integration criteria.
