“The entire aviation sector could face cost increases at all levels,” a Luxair spokesperson told The essentials. These price increases could also have an impact on the prices consumers pay. A new increase in ticket prices which would influence the vacation plans of the majority of those questioned in Luxembourg City.

“If there is another significant price increase, I will have to reduce the number of visits to my family in Greece,” says Socrates, 43. Other residents would rather decide to go by car to less distant destinations.

Eliene, 37, and Raphaël, 40, have two children, so a fairly substantial vacation budget. “We wanted to go to Italy by plane, but ultimately we had to go there by car. The total cost of the trip was the equivalent of the price of a single plane ticket,” relates the father.

For Graham, the solution would above all be to choose low-cost flights from now on. “Flights from Charleroi and Frankfurt-Hahn are much cheaper,” he slips. However, some residents are so passionate about traveling that this increase will not change their habits. “With my family, we travel ten to twelve times a year, so it’s quite a budget anyway,” says Paul, 24.
