The results of the second edition of the call for projects for tourism TMPEs in the Souss-Massa region wishing to benefit from technical and financial support have just been revealed. Of the 132 projects submitted, 35 applications were selected.
The regional development company (SDR) SMART-Tourisme has just revealed the results of the second edition of its call for projects relating to technical and financial support and support for tourism SMEs in the Souss-Massa region.
In total, after several months of evaluation, 132 applications were examined by the Local Selection Commission (CLS) and the SDR Investment Committee. Of all the projects submitted, 35 applications were selected to initiate the support and incubation phase in accordance with the provisions of the program. The animation and leisure sector largely dominates with 30 projects, or 86% of the initiatives selected. The other five projects relate to the accommodation sector.
The projects selected without reservation (22) will benefit from personalized support from January 2025 including technical assistance and entrepreneurial coaching as well as training. This is in order to provide project leaders with working tools to maximize their impact on the region’s tourism development.
The projects focus on new creations and transformation
Those not selected received recommendations to adapt and participate in future editions. Overall, the projects relating to both business creations and transformation initiatives demonstrated a penchant for entertainment and leisure, particularly through initiatives such as surf camps, water activities, gastronomic spaces and leisure areas which have been selected to strengthen the attractiveness of the destination Agadir and its surroundings.
These initiatives, which are part of the tourism roadmap (2023-2026), aim to develop sectors such as “Ocean waves” and “Beach and sun”, in line with the tourist potential of the Souss-Massa region. .
Launch of the third call for projects
Furthermore, in line with its strategy, SMART Tourisme launched, on November 15, 2024, the third call for projects (APP3), intended for innovative tourism SMEs. Which places particular emphasis on female entrepreneurship and regional tourism ecosystems.
Therefore, entrepreneurs are invited to submit their innovative projects in sectors such as entertainment, leisure, alternative accommodation, and high value-added tourism services. Their contribution is essential to diversify and enrich the regional tourism offer.
Furthermore, this call for projects is part of the implementation of the support program for existing tourism SMEs which wish to upgrade their structure and improve their competitiveness.
The program also concerns candidates interested in new creation projects, in particular tourism project leaders, with more than ten sectors concerned in accordance with the regulations of the call for projects.
These include, among others, tourist accommodation, events, transport in the form of leisure activities, guiding, nautical activities, leisure, sporting and catering tourist activities, property -be for tourists and travel agencies.
