The board of directors of Santé Québec announced Monday the appointment of Patrick Duchesne as CEO of the CIUSSS de la Capitale-Nationale. Mr. Duchesne has held this position on an interim basis since last September.
Santé Québec also appointed four other presidents and CEOs and two assistant presidents and CEOs to seven health and social services establishments in the province.
These appointments were approved by the board of directors of the state-owned company on December 12.
After being director of mental health, addictions and homelessness programs from 2018 to 2022, Mr. Duchesne was deputy president and CEO of the CIUSSS de la Capitale-Nationale for two years. He has been a member of the Order of Nurses of Quebec since 1994.
Mr. Duchesne has a master’s degree in organizational development from Laval University obtained in 2014 as well as certificates in gerontology, administration and mental health.
“I am honored by this new mandate entrusted to me and it is with determination, rigor and integrity that I wish to take on the important challenges that await the CIUSSS de la Capitale-Nationale in a context of change within the network of the health and social services,” he reacted.
“I am convinced that with the strength of our teams, we will be able to maintain a quality service offering and achieve or even surpass our objectives in terms of access to care and services, mobilization and commitment to the population” , added Mr. Duchesne.
The other appointments are: Benoit Geneau, CEO of the Philippe-Pinel National Institute of Forensic Psychiatry, Julie Désailliers, CEO of the CISSS de Laval, Isabelle Matte, CEO of the CIUSSS du Centre-Sud-de-l’île-de-Montréal (position for which she has held the interim since July 2024), Nesrine Ragguem, CEO of the Montreal Heart Institute (position for which she has been acting since July 2024), Marie-Ève Desrosiers, CEO of the CHUM (position for which she has been acting since May 2024) and Benoît Major, CEO of the CISSS des Laurentides.
