The pilot then decided to contact the nearest air traffic control after six hours of travel.
“Four-legged visitors safe”
Landing on the island of Bermuda at LF Wade International Airport, the mammals were given priority upon landing. “The Bermuda Government, Menzies, Delta Air Lines and Skyport have worked closely to ensure the pigs are treated humanely throughout this ordeal. This coordinated effort reflects the island’s commitment to caring for all visitors, whether they walk on two legs or trot on four legs”explains the airport spokesperson.
Fortunately, all treatment of the animals went well. “These surprise guests added their special touch to the island’s holiday season. Although their stay was brief, they certainly brought unexpected Christmas cheer and some memorable aromas to the island.” After unloading the livestock, the crew was no longer allowed to fly. The passengers were accommodated before being able to leave later for their initial destination.
