New cars for less than 20,000 euros are becoming rare, but they still exist. The automobile market is marked by a constant increase in prices. Acquiring a new car at a reasonable price remains possible for certain models. City cars and small SUVs dominate this category of affordable vehicles. These models offer an interesting compromise between price, functionality and quality.
Among them, the Citroën C3 is a particularly competitive French model. It is available from 14,990 euros with a 100 horsepower gasoline engine. The hybrid or electric versions of the C3, however, exceed 20,000 euros. Another essential French flagship: Dacia. The Dacia Sandero is offered from 12,490 euros, which makes it one of the cheapest new cars. The Dacia Duster, a popular SUV, is accessible from 19,890 euros.
International brands are resisting
Hyundai and Kia also offer models for less than 20,000 euros. The Hyundai i10, a compact city car, starts at 18,050 euros. The Kia Picanto, with its Mild Hybrid Petrol 1.0 BSG 70 HP engine, starts at 15,990 euros. These Korean models intend to compete with European models. Besides, Japanese brands are not left out with Mitsubishi, Suzuki and Toyota. The Mitsubishi Space Star is available from 15,490 euros with a 1.2 MIVEC 71 gasoline engine. The Suzuki Swift hybrid is available from 17,790 euros. Suzuki's Ignis Hybrid is available from 15,390 euros. Finally, the Toyota Aygo remains competitive with a price starting at 16,900 euros.
Chinese manufacturers are starting to establish themselves in the economy car segment. The Leapmotor T03 is a 100% electric car priced from 18,900 euros, excluding ecological bonus. The MG3 Hybrid+ is available from 19,900 euros in full hybrid version. These new entrants offer an additional alternative for consumers.
