the sums distributed for profit-sharing and participation are increasing

Amundi, the number one player in in the field of employee savings and retirement, manages that of nearly 4 million employees out of 12.8 million French workers who hold them. The management company is therefore ideally positioned to observe the major 2024 trends in the sums distributed for value sharing. This includes participation, which consists of the redistribution of part of the company's profits to its employees, and profit-sharing, which allows them to be rewarded when the company's objectives are achieved.

First, the payments which took place from January to the end of August 2024 represent 85% of the total distributed over the year. This corresponds to more than 11,200 collective profit-sharing and profit-sharing transactions processed by Amundi Employee Savings and Retirement, for 6,601 companies and nearly 3 million employees. More than 5.1 billion euros were distributed, an increase of 5% compared to last year, including 2.7 billion in profit-sharing and 2.4 billion in profit-sharing. “Despite an inflationary context, which is still present, companies have continued to distribute, in line with 2023, significant and increasing amounts”note Amundi.

Increase in average amount

More than 3.7 billion euros, or 73% of the total, were invested in company savings plan and collective PER (retirement savings plan) schemes. Only 1.4 billion euros was received immediately by employees. “Despite the context of declining purchasing power, the savings rate remained relatively high. This is a sign that the benefits of these schemes are understood and that the relevance of saving via these schemes is well perceived by employees. This savings rate of course varies from one company to another, and depending on the amount paid and the sector of activity: the lower the amounts paid, the more employees request immediate payment.observe Amundus.
