In difficulty, Bombardier Recreational Products (BRP) confirms that it has laid off more than 120 workers at its Valcourt, Sherbrooke and Montreal facilities.
“The 2025 financial year brought its share of challenges and we adapted to the difficult context (…) which unfortunately leads us to make workforce reductions affecting professional and executive positions overall. from BRP,” the company responded to us by email.
According to information taken from documents from the Ministry of Employment and Social Solidarity, released Monday, half of the layoffs were carried out at BRP’s head office in Montreal. No less than 60 people lost their jobs.
The other cuts were made in Estrie, where the majority of the company’s manufacturing activities in Quebec are concentrated. We are talking about 47 layoffs in Valcourt and 15 others in Sherbrooke.
The stock markets reacted little to this announcement this morning. Shortly after noon, BRP shares fell 0.43% to $69.43. Since the start of the year, the company’s share price has lost more than 27%.
