End of major outage at Telenet: thousands of customers regain their mobile network

Thousands of customers of the telecom operator Telenet encountered network problems this Tuesday from 7:00 a.m. They were no longer able to make calls or use the Internet via the mobile network, a company spokesperson confirmed.

Everything is back to normal at Telenet. The major outage affecting the telecom operator was resolved around 12:15 p.m., said a company spokesperson. Thousands of users could no longer make calls or use mobile internet since Tuesday morning due to a technical problem. Many of them reported it to us via our orange Alert us button.

“The situation is normalized for the majority of our customers”, said Telenet spokesperson Bart Boone. The outage was due to a problem observed at the end of a maintenance intervention on the mobile network.

A complete restart was required, which caused disruptions until midday. The fixed internet and television network, however, was not affected by these technical problems.

The outage having lasted more than 8 hours, it gives rise to the right to possible recourse and compensation.
