What will change for Proximus, Orange and Voo customers in July

There is change among the country’s main mobile operators. The month of July will bring its share of new features with compatibility with the Wi-Fi 6E network from Proximus and new subscriptions from Orange.

Wi-Fi 6E arrives at Proximus

From July 1st, Proximus customers will have access to Wi-Fi 6E, the new wireless Internet standard that provides access to a third frequency band and better performance too (up to 1.7GB of downloads per second). Unfortunately, this new feature is only available to Fiber customers for the moment. Ultra Fiber customers will follow. No need to change modems since Proximus modems already support this standard, everything will be done with a simple update, as we explained here.

A new number blocking to reduce scams

A new law published in the Belgian Official Journal will reduce the number of telephone scams by blocking calls from Belgian numbers to Belgian numbers dialled from abroad. Of course, this does not concern roaming calls but fake numbers used for identity theft. The BIPT will monitor compliance with this new legislation, which will be fully adopted within the next six months.

End clap for Go subscriptions

Orange is converting the subscriptions of its Go customers to Orange Mobile. If you had a Go subscription, you should therefore benefit from a substantial gain in data over the coming days. The Small subscription includes 8 GB of data, the Medium 50 GB and the Large 300 GB.
