Who stole over 40 kilos of kiwis from this small Breton island?

Last week, people broke into the garden of a resident of the town of Arz Island, in Morbihan, in the middle of the night and stole… more than 40 kg of kiwis.

Where have the kiwis gone? This could be the title of a news story as the object of the theft seems insignificant but it is still an intrusion into private property. Last week at the end of November 2024, people broke into the garden of a resident of the town in the middle of the night on the island of Arz, in the Gulf of Morbihan, and stole more than 40 kg of kiwis!

In the form of jam?

Each year, the owner of the garden harvests and boxes several kilos of kiwis for residents who request them but also to distribute the surplus to those who pass by his house as is traditional with the apples that we found in front of the island's garden gates. Perhaps the kiwis will reappear in the form of jam and those who stole them will have the kindness to leave a few jars with the owner, it's the least they can do…

Other damage

This “event” follows others that occurred this summer concerning the theft, “borrowing”, and damage to around sixty bicycles and other rolling objects such as a child’s stroller.
