NVIDIA plans to launch the GeForce RTX 5000 series following CES 2025 in Las Vegas, which will be held from January 7 to 10 in Nevada. The exact release of the new cards is however not known, simply estimated in the first quarter of 2025 for the RTX 5090, 5080 and 5070/5070 Ti.
In fact, and NVIDIA no longer hides it, it was imperative to switch the production lines of its supplier – TSMC – to GBxxx GPUs. To our colleagues at Tom’s Hardwarethe brand took advantage of a conference call linked to the publication of its results to explain: “ The challenge we face is how quickly we are able to respond to market demands for this quarter ».
A sentence that announces a complicated month of December – and end-of-year holidays – for anyone who would like to offer/purchase a GeForce graphics card. NVIDIA does not reassure by specifying: “ Don't worry, I think we'll be back on track when we start the new year “. In other words, the transition to the RTX 5000 series will be delicate with an accelerated end of life for the RTX 4000.
It now remains to answer the most important questions, namely the price and availability of this new generation. NVIDIA tells us that it has taken the lead, but that ultimately doesn't really tell us anything.
