Public transport will cost more from July 1 with the entry into force of the new price scales of the Regional Metropolitan Transport Authority (ARTM).

According to the new pricing, the ordinary monthly pass on the island of Montreal (zone A) will increase from $97 to $100, while the one-month pass in the Laval and Longueuil sectors (zone AB) will cost $5 more to go to $160.

Residents of Longueuil and Laval will have to pay $0.25 more to travel since the price for a passage for Tous Mode AB will reach $4.75, and $9.50 for two passages.

The price of a ticket for one and two trips on the island of Montreal will not increase and will remain at $3.75 and $7, respectively.

Changes for the river shuttle

Frozen since 2022, the cost of taking the river shuttle will increase by 50 cents, from $5.50 to $6 for the trip between the Old Port of Montreal and Boucherville as well as between the Old Port, Varennes and Pointe-aux-Trembles.

In a press release published Thursday, the ARTM specified that this 3% increase in prices is part of the annual indexation, i.e. below the inflation observed during the last year which was 4.1%. in the Montreal metropolitan area.
