  • China, the world’s factory, would also aspire to become an energy power

This is the ecological transition of all superlatives. The one without which the efforts of other countries would be in vain. It is also the one that we are least able to define, as it is distant, colossal and difficult to measure due to a lack of reliable data. China is transforming its energy mix at breakneck speed, especially since this state announced in 2020 that it was aiming for carbon neutrality by 2060. The world’s fascinating factory is both the good and the bad student of the climate. It dominates the race for clean energy, but it is also the largest emitter of greenhouse gases.
