THE The Council of State welcomed its counterpart from the Canton of Thurgau to Neuchâtel yesterday and today, for a two-day confederal visit. The Thurgau executive was thus able to discover the industrial know-how and the many assets of the Canton of Neuchâtel. The Council of State took advantage of this meeting to develop economic tiesues and cultures between the two cantons.

Dan the framework of traditional confederal visits, the Council of State received yesterday afternoon in Neuchâtel the members of the government of the Canton of Thurgau, led by their president Mr. Walter Schönholzer. The program of the meeting thus allowed the invited Council of State to take stock of Neuchâtel’s technological know-how in the fields of watchmaking and mechanics and to discover the natural, cultural and gastronomic riches of our canton.

MWednesday, after a guided tour of the historic rooms of the Château de Neuchâtel, the two executives were able to appreciate the expertise of the Rollomatic company, in Landeron, in the design and manufacturing of machine toolss high precision. The delegation then visited the Maison de l’absinthe, in Môtiers, before sharing a meal in a restaurant in Val-de-Travers.

VSn Thursday June 13, 2024, the meeting continued in Fleurier with a visit to the watchmaking company Chopard Manufacture, renowned for its exceptional timepieces, followed by the discovery of the peat bog educational trail and the new Maison de the Tourbière at Ponts-de-Martel.

VShis two-day meeting between cantonal executives made it possible to present an overview of the many assets of our canton to the State Council of the Canton of Thurgau and to develop economic and cultural links between the two cantons.
