“To us, this horrible noise sounded like fireworks at first,” mother Kelleen Reddy said in an interview with Fox 35 Orlando.

The bullets narrowly missed the household of 14 people – from young children to grandparents – who remained inside. In particular, they pierced bed posts, walls and their car.

“My two-year-old son was sleeping in one of the bedrooms that a bullet passed through,” Mr Reddy said.

According to the father, each room was hit by at least one projectile.

The mother said the family noticed a party was starting at a house nearby. Just a few hours later, numerous gunshots were heard. “It was just terrifying,” she expressed.

The next day, the group packed up before leaving, a day earlier than planned.

The Airbnb company reimbursed the entire price for the accommodation, according to the American media. However, she clarified that the shooting occurred on property that was not rented by the company.

Local police have opened an investigation to find the person responsible. The person shot was out of danger, according to authorities.
