Keewe allows tourism players to generate impact through their international payments!

Keewe is a French fintech created in 2021 by 3 former trading room bankers and 1 developer specializing in the banking sector.

Indeed, the currency market is the largest financial market and represents more than 6,000 billion dollars in daily exchanges.

However, currency transactions are very costly for businesses and are associated with international trade (imports and exports), which represents 25% of global CO2e emissions. For France, imports represent more than 55% of the carbon footprint.

Historically, sustainable finance (or green finance) is mainly associated with investment products aimed at financing “sustainable” projects (examples: low-carbon infrastructure, carbon-free energy production, etc.), through dedicated tools such as green bonds or loans indexed to sustainability objectives (sustainability-linked loans). On the other hand, the foreign exchange market does not participate in the fight against climate change despite its size and its link with international trade, which generates carbon emissions.

The idea behind Keewe is therefore to reconcile international payments with the ecological transition to revolutionize international payments.

Keewe’s mission is therefore to offer SMEs and mid-sized companies a more fluid experience (intuitive online platform, opening a new currency account in one click, real-time monitoring of your payment, etc.), with competitive rates. (no fixed commissions or account maintenance fees) and personalized support thanks to a dedicated contact.

But its mission does not stop there: Keewe integrates services into its payments platform to measure the carbon footprint of the products and services purchased and to contribute to carbon neutrality and the UN Sustainable Development Goals thanks to its cash-back system.

Today Keewe supports more than 600 French SMEs and mid-sized companies, but not only that! The start-up has recently expanded internationally, particularly in Poland and Romania.
