(AOF) – In September 2024, the total number of business creations, all types of businesses combined, fell for the fourth consecutive month and more markedly than in August (-5% after -1% in August) , in data adjusted for seasonal variations and the effects of working days. This new decline comes from both that of traditional business creations (-4.1% after -2%) and that of registrations of micro-entrepreneurs (-5.5% after -0.5%).
In raw data, the total number of businesses created over the last twelve months (October 2023 to September 2024) increases by 5.7% compared to that of the same months a year earlier (October 2022 to September 2023).
In September 2024, in data adjusted for seasonal variations and the effects of working days, business creations decrease in all sectors.
They fell sharply again in the manufacturing industry (-7.5% after -6% in August), household services (-6.3% after -7.5%) and very sharply in construction (-15 % after ‑6.2%).
They fell sharply in almost all other sectors: business support (-7.2% after -1.2%), real estate activities (-4.6% after +1%), trade and repair of automobiles and motorcycles (-3.7% after +1.2%) and financial and insurance activities (-1.2% after +3.7%).
In education, health, social action, business creations remain almost stable (-0.1% after -2.8%).
