Under the theme: “The Culture of Tomorrow: How will the next generation shape our world? »Dubai will host the World Cities Culture Summit 2024, from October 30 to November 1.

Organized by Dubai Culture, this summit will highlight city initiatives to support the creative economy, invest in cultural industries and encourage talent, reports the UAE news agency WAM.

This event will be an opportunity to discuss the role of young people in transforming urban life through innovative solutions, aimed at creating a cultural heritage for the future, adds the same source.

The program, the opening ceremony of which will be held at “Al Shindagha Museum”the largest open-air heritage museum in the United Arab Emirates, will include several closed-door sessions. These sessions will notably address the role of youth in cultural policies, funding models, artificial intelligence in cultural policy, creative districts, culture in health care and its contribution to climate challenges.

The summit will also explore cities’ strategies to enable young people to develop skills and use cutting-edge technologies to face future challenges.

A public session will be devoted to the evolution of cities and cultural actors in a digital and globalized world. Several international speakers are expected to share their vision of the future of culture during sessions entitled “Ideas for tomorrow”.

On this occasion, the third phase of the executive exchange program, supported by Bloomberg Philanthropies, will be launched.

Quoted by WAM, Hala Badri, Director General of Dubai Culture, said that hosting this forum demonstrates Dubai’s role in promoting the cultural sector and overall development.

For her part, Justine Simons, Deputy Mayor of London and President of the World Cities Culture Forum, highlighted the importance of cooperation to strengthen global cohesion through culture.

The World Cities Culture Forum, the main network for the development of cultural policies, brings together more than 45 member cities. It allows cultural leaders to share research and highlight the crucial role of culture in economic and social development.
