A revaluation of the APL
APL or personalized housing assistance is among the most popular benefits from the CNAF. Many French households are entitled to it, without always knowing it. Recently, the authorities announced that this financial aid would be even more advantageous. In fact, its revaluation is not done like that of other financial boosts from the State.
While most CAF aid is increased at the start of the year, this is not the case for the APL. In fact, the latter increases or decreases depending on inflation but also IRL. INSEE’s announcement recently on the subject explains the changes which apply now.
The revaluation of the APL is effective since October 1st. An announcement which can only please the beneficiaries since it is indeed an increase in the aid offered by the State. This means that more than 6.6 million French people will have a payment higher than in recent months!

Who will benefit from this increased aid?
The CNAF plans an increase in the APL for all eligible beneficiaries. The granting criteria do not change at this time. In fact, the beneficiary must have a precise profile, in addition to meet housing and income criteria. The authorities check the profiles on a case-by-case basis to establish whether the granting of this aid is justified.
The increase in the APL will benefit in particular to tenants under 30 years old. People living with a foster family are also eligible. Note, however, that there is no minimum age for granting this assistance. A student can therefore fully claim it. The latter must also respect an income ceiling.
As for housing, the APL’s criterion is that it must be located in France only. A resident outside the country will therefore not benefit from the aid and its increase. The owner can also obtain this allowance on condition of signing an agreement with the State.
What is the value of the increase in the APL?
The increase in the APL for this month of October is based on the IRL published by INSEE. The latter is estimated at 3,26%which is a definite advantage for the beneficiaries. The calculation of the amount depends on the profile of each beneficiary and the base they were already receiving until then.
Note that the payment of the APL could experience a slight delay for this month of October. While this is usually done on the 5th, it falls on a Saturday. As a result, the payment may to be done on October 7 future. The luckiest ones have already received their aid on October 4! You will therefore need to check your account regularly to find out whether the financial boost is available or not.
