In a recent publication, Forbes magazine listed the top 5 world powers in 2024.

In fifth position, we find India. The country, under Modi’s leadership, has seen tremendous acceleration, experiencing sustained growth for some time.

The workforce is young, abundant and the country is at the forefront of the sectors of pharmaceutical production, agriculture and new technologies.

In fourth place is Japan. At a growth rate of 0.9% per year, the Japanese economy is best known for being driven upwards by sectors such as automobiles, electronics and new technologies.

On the third step of the podium, we then find Germany whose economy is based on engineering, chemistry, automobiles and even pharmacy.

However, its growth is tending to slow down, with an increase of approximately 0.2% per year.

In second position in this Forbes ranking of world powers is China. The growth of the Chinese economy, still remarkable, is made possible in particular by its very numerous exports.

This country’s diplomacy is booming, its numerous investments abroad as well as its manufacturing industry.

An ultra-protective government. Result ? A growth rate of around 4.6%. Certainly, it is less than in previous years (covid aside) but it is still very high.

Finally, in first place: the United States. Industry, service, finance, new technologies, import-export… On the American side, the pillars are extremely numerous.

Add to this a protective government as well as a particularly strong internal consumer market and you obtain a mix which allows American GDP to continue to grow each year by nearly 2.5 or even 2.7%.
