More than 100,000 visitors once again walked the aisles of the Salon de la Maison at Nordev. Products focused on the ecological transition and energy autonomy particularly attracted visitors who were more ready to get involved in thoughtful projects.

The 35th edition will have been at least as good as the previous one. In 2023, 102,000 entries were counted over 10 days, this year the count reached 103,000 at 3 p.m. this Sunday, May 5, the last day of the show. The organizers hope to reach the 105,000 visitor mark by the end of the day.

Started on April 27, the Salon de la Maison took advantage of the bridge of 1er May, with 20,000 visitors on a single day, and the ever-increasing interest that the people of Reunion have in their habitat. Visitors who are increasingly interested, but also increasingly demanding, particularly regarding the environmental aspect of the products offered, says Michaël Martin, Deputy Managing Director of Nordev.

Ecological, but also economical, solar water heaters and photovoltaic panels were particularly popular. While these products are not new, the technology is evolving. The economic context also makes them particularly attractive, with the increase in the price of electricity, the alternative of self-production is gaining traction.

The question of energy autonomy must also be taken into account. With climatic events such as cyclone Belal at the start of the year, the people of Reunion are seeking to protect themselves from electricity and water cuts.

Among the approximately 350 exhibitors, 91% of them declare having made sales at the show, compared to 87% last year, says the organizer. For visitors, 62% say they have made a purchase, compared to 57% last year, and 93% say they are satisfied with their visit.

The extension of the duration of credits would not be unrelated to the increase in purchases at the show, the credit companies having adapted to support customers, underlines Michaël Martin, Deputy Managing Director of Nordev. Some visitors actually come with thoughtful projects, planned over periods ranging from 9 to 12 months.

Everyone made an effort, everyone made prizes. This show was a success and plays its role, that is to say a role which consists of ensuring that a leverage effect can get the local economy moving again, which really needed it.

The 36th edition of the Salon de la Maison will also be held over 9 days, from May 3 to 11, 2025.
