The Omega watch brand, owned by the Swatch Group, wants to consolidate its presence on its Bienne site. She has filed a building permit to expand her premises. The investment involves several million francs in the years to come.

The Swatch Group has already committed more than 100 million francs to the Omega campus in Bienne in recent years. “The work announced in the building permit application would have to cost between 10 and 30 million additional francs,” Omega CEO Raynald Aeschlimann said on Saturday in the Journal du Jura.

This investment will complement the expansions already made in the past. “Our strategic thinking is part of a desire for long-term development and continues the expansion of the historic site of the brand,” added the general director of Omega.

Concretely, the watch brand wants to raise the storage building along the Suze by one floor. It is also a question of cleaning up this building which dates from 1947. Added to this is the creation of 40 additional parking spaces for two-wheelers.
