Three Laval restaurants were recently fined by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPAQ).

The total fines are $3,500.

The Romcafé resto-bar, located at 1802, boulevard des Laurentides, received a fine of $2,000 for an offense dating from February 2022. At that time, the owner allegedly carried out the activity of restaurateur without holding a permit in force.

The Chair de Poule restaurant, which is located at 3630, boulevard de la Concorde est, instead received a fine of $1,000. The place would have “held a heat-alterable product without cooling it, without delay or without constantly maintaining it at an internal and ambient temperature not exceeding 4°C until its delivery to the consumer”, we detail on the MAPAQ website.

For its part, the Poulet Frit Kentucky branch #1246 at 1689, boulevard des Laurentides, was fined $500, since the premises, equipment and materials used for the preparation, storage and serving of Products were not clean.

Remember that four other restaurants in Laval had already been targeted by the MAPAQ earlier this year.

30 Laval restaurants also received at least one fine from MAPAQ in 2023. The total amount of fines amounted to $49,000. This was an increase of $30,000 compared to the fines distributed in the region in 2022.
