[PHOTOS] Chaudière-Appalaches: Arson in Lévis, police investigate

Lévis police in Chaudière-Appalaches are investigating an arson attack that targeted a residential building on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday.

The Lévis Police Department (SPVL) was alerted around midnight by calls to 911 about a fire starting in semi-detached houses on rue du Ramoneur, said SPVL spokesperson Thomas Côté.

Fortunately, the targeted residence was not occupied at the time of the incident, but the damage caused to the building was significant, even though the firefighters were able to control the flames after a second alarm was sounded.

Two investigators and a forensic identification technician were dispatched to the scene to analyze the scene and attempt to shed light on the exact circumstances surrounding the fire, according to the SPVL spokesperson.

Sergeant Côté, who has not reported any arrests at this time, has not confirmed whether or not this event is linked to the drug gang war that has occurred several times in Lévis, preferring to await the conclusions of the open investigation.
