He was sanctioned for having sexually assaulted his 3-year-old cousin, he left the courthouse free after two nights spent in pre-trial detention in the neighboring remand center: sentenced to undergo follow-up socio-judicial for three years, this young man placed under guardianship was tried on Thursday January 16, 2025 in immediate appearance before the criminal court of the city-prefecture of Deux-Sèvres.

Four days earlier, in his cousin's home where he was temporarily hosted in Saint-Maixent-l'École, this first-time offender had been surprised by the host. In the living room, in the presence of three children, he had his pants down and his genitals exposed: on top of him, his 3-year-old cousin, also partially naked. The accused went back and forth, “as if he wanted to penetrate her”, said the victim's mother in the courtroom without wishing, however, to become a civil party for her daughter.

Not far from the attempted rape at the start

Employed in a work assistance establishment and service, his monthly income being supplemented by an allowance for disabled adults, the accused does not know what was going through his mind: “It hit me suddenly. » The president, Igor Souchu, tries to understand: because the victim is “a very little girl can be handled like an object”.

“We imagine the violence of the act and the child’s incomprehension, bounced, on behalf of the prosecution, the deputy Anne Laparra. And I think he has a lot of trouble coping. » Disagree, Me Laura Roose: her client is “extremely limited intellectually and does not grasp everything” of facts however “perfectly established”. Initially, recalls Ms. Laparra, they even “flirted with the qualification of attempted rape”.
