SENEGAL-EMPLOI / The Head of State calls for an evaluation and a ”reframing” of the ”Xëyu ndaw ñi” program – Senegalese Press Agency

Dakar, Jan 15 (APS) – The President of the Republic asked the government to evaluate and “reframe” the “Xëyu ndaw ñi” program before the end of next March, in order to make it “more efficient”, announces the press release from the Council of Ministers.

Concerning “the ‘Xëyu ndaw ñi’ program implemented since 2021, which is experiencing major shortcomings, the President of the Republic asked the Prime Minister to undertake, with the ministers involved, all the necessary steps to evaluate and to the reframing of the said program before the end of March 2025,” we read in the text.

Bassirou Diomaye Faye thinks that this program responsible for finding jobs for young people ”must evolve towards a new concept (…) more efficient and strongly integrating all targets”.

The ”pragmatic review” of the ”Xëyu ndaw ñi” program must lead to ”a rapid reframing of its components and its sectoral objectives in terms of job creation and promotion of entrepreneurship,” says the press release from the Council of Ministers, quoting the head of state.

He recommends an ”optimization” of funding allocated to beneficiaries of the said program launched on April 22, 2021 by Macky Sall to create 65,000 young people, in the sectors of education, environmental protection, public hygiene, security, road maintenance, etc.
