Many renowned authors and promising young writers will meet in Marrakech l'Africaine. There will be around fifty of them, speaking and writing in all languages, coming from more than twenty countries and three continents.
The FLAM is preparing to welcome its guests and festival-goers with an exceptional program particularly highlighting the words of women in Africa and its multiple voices carried by world literature. Several round tables will be devoted to this theme.
In the same perspective, FLAM will have the honor of receiving Ananda Devi, a great Mauritian writer and literary icon, who will deliver the Inaugural Lecture. The former Minister of Justice of the French Republic and tireless activist for human dignity, Christiane Taubira, will be the Great Witness of this edition, sharing her social and political commitment and her passion for literature. Faithful to its wish to invite different artistic disciplines in the service of literature, the FLAM has chosen to invite, to illustrate the poster for the 2025 edition, the Moroccan artist Najia Mehadji. An exhibition by Haitian artist, Marie-Denise Douyon, is also planned.
As in the first two editions, literary cafés, palavers, readings, signings, films and evenings will follow one another during the four days of the festival at the Les Etoiles Cultural Center of Jamaâ el-Fna for a promising edition, which will give pride of place to young people audience. Thus, master classes, writing workshops, literary breakfasts will be scheduled outside the walls, in partner sites.
The presentation of the Marrakech High School Students Prize, now incubated by FLAM, will close this 3rd edition, thus confirming our social commitment to the promotion of reading and writing, for sharing and transmission to younger generations.
