Étienne Morin set the tone with a 10th goal and the Moncton Wildcats signed their eighth consecutive victory, winning 5-1 over the Halifax Mooseheads

Riley Sampson, Pier-Étienne Cloutier, Gabe Smith and Dylan McKinnon also scored for Moncton, while Rudy Guimond made 24 saves.

Jake Todd fought back for the Mooseheads, beaten for a fifth straight time.

Morin converted a wrist shot from the slot late in the first period before Todd took advantage of a loose puck to bring both clubs back to square one early in the second period.

Keeping the puck on a two-on-one, Sampson shot and took advantage of the rebound to break the tie 1-1, just 1:17 after Todd’s goal.

The Wildcats will play their next game Thursday in Gatineau.

Rouyn-Noranda 5 Rimouski 4 (F)

Rémi Gélinas and Bill Zonnon scored in the shootout to guide the Huskies to victory over the Océanic, 5-4.

Zonnon tied the game at 19:41 in the third period.

Mathys Dubé scored twice in regular time for Rimouski.

Victoriaville 3 Gatineau 2

Samuel Vachon provided a goal and an assist as the Tigres ended a four-game losing streak, winning 3-2 against the Londres.

Gatineau lost a third consecutive game.

Sherbrooke 3 Shawinigan 6

Cole Chandler completed a hat trick in an empty net and the Cataractes disposed of the Phoenix, 6-3.

The Estrie team has been winless for three games.

Val-d’Or 5 Drummondville 2

Jérémy Leroux and Alix Durocher scored doubles to help the Foreurs defeat the Voltigeurs, 5-2.
