Juraj Slafkovsky is not having a season that lives up to expectations, far from it, but, despite this little sleepiness, he is rising among the big names in the history of the Montreal Canadiens. Since the start of this campaign, Slavs picked up 17 points in 28 games. This number of points allows him to sit fourth in points for the Montreal Canadiens.
So, thanks to the addition of his 17 points so far, the number 20’s total rose to 77 in 149 games, which allows him to slot in among big names, like Mario Tremblay, Henri Richard and Stéphane Richer . We can even see the name of Alex Galchenyuk to complete the top-5 of this list. This top-5 includes the players with the highest number of points before the age of 21.
Slavs will celebrate his 21st birthday on March 30, 2025. Despite a season where he struggled considerably, he still managed to highlight the rich historical story of the Montreal Canadiens. If he manages to emerge from his torpor by the end of the season, he could manage to reach the same level as his second half of the 2023-24 season, which would greatly help the general fabric of Sainte-Flanelle.
Let’s not forget one thing. We must be patient with young players since they are learning and may experience more difficult times due to a lack of confidence or, even, a slight lack of maturity.
In training today (Wednesday)
During this rather optional session of the Montreal Canadiens, we were able to see once again a very specific training session, namely fights. Jayden Struble learned a few more dance steps from Arber Xhekaj, while Stéphane Robidas passed the K.-O. to poor Michael Pezzetta. THE Pezz continues to be an outstanding teammate, despite a season spent in the stands staring at his teammates.
But what happens to the blue-white-red with these recurring dance steps during optional training… or before the start of practices? Does the CH want to take off its mitts more during certain matches?
