the essential
Sunday, November 17 from 9 a.m., the Castelsarrasin municipal media library hosts the seventh Book Fair organized by the Reading for All association. Presentation.
Casually, we are slowly arriving at the seventh edition of this major literary event in the heart of the good town of Castelsarrasin. Indeed, on Sunday November 17, the annual Book Fair will take over the premises of the municipal media library, like every year in this autumn month. This regularity in excellence which attracts an increasing number of audiences each year, we owe to the Castelsarrasinoise association Lecture pour tous, and in particular to the duettists Didier Noulet, president, and Roland Bringay, vice-president, both also authors in their spare time. They received us in the lounge of the Marceillac hotel, a symbol of French refinement in the city center, to discuss this seventh edition which will see some changes, while keeping the main lines that have framed this lounge for all these years.
Around forty writers
First of all, around forty authors with the usual parity between published and independent authors. This mixing allows meetings, exchanges between these worlds, and the emergence of still unknown talents. All literary trends will be represented without restriction, including poetry, also including children's authors. With, this year in particular, awareness of Sanfilippo syndrome, a terrible orphan disease brought to light in the department by the Sanfilippo Sud association. The day is scheduled under the sponsorship of a guest of honor who already has a certain resonance on a national scale. For this edition, this prestigious task will fall to the writer Maylis Adhémar. Praised for her first novel “Bénie être Sixtine”, published by Julliard, and her second, “La Grande Ourse”, published by Gallimard (which received the “Midi Libre” grand prize in 2023), she will discuss her most astonishing and singular, already of great richness despite its young age.
Entertainment for everyone
The day will be punctuated by various activities with the ever-present Madame Champagne in the youth area, and the evocation of the origins of writing with the essential Castelsarrasin professor and speaker Jacques Albarède. The young author Noémie Charcosset will read her award-winning short story in the Place aux Nouvelles de Lauzerte competition, and Christophe Dougnac will lead a mini-workshop around comics. At 10:15 a.m., Maylis Adhémar will be interviewed in public by Jacques Lavergne, author of detective novels and editorial columnist on the Web radio “Esprit Occitanie”, before the official inauguration of the show with elected officials and partners scheduled for 11:30 a.m.
“The partners are vital for the organization and operation of this show. There are around fifteen of them, with in particular the particular involvement of the municipality and the media library which welcome us, as well as the cultural space of the Leclerc center in Castelsarrasin who has been the bookseller associated with the show for several years. It is thanks to all of them that this show remains free for exhibitors and the public”, deliver together Didier Noulet and Roland Bringay, ready, with all their strength. team, to welcome the authors and the public to the municipal media library of Castelsarrasin.
