Saturday at 6 p.m., Cahors FC hosts Saint-Juéry with the challenge of qualifying for the round of 16 of the Occitanie Cup.
For the second time in a week, the roads of Cahors FC and Saint-Juéry will cross again at the Ilbert stadium in Cahors, this time in the 32nd final of the Occitanie Cup. Last Saturday, the two teams neutralized each other 0-0 in the Regional 2 championship, pool C.
The first round was tight and tense with a dominating Cadurcian team in numerical inferiority which came up against a very compact visiting defensive block.
If this match has left its mark (suspension of Garcia and Kieffer excluded last Saturday on the Cadurcian side), coach Jean-François Barros will rotate the squad to leave certain elements requested since the start of the season to rest and launch some young elements from the group of R3. Indeed the young people, Piecourt, Carreyrou, Benayoun, Abou participated in the previous rounds against Montcabrier or Causse Limargue.
The Lot coach hopes that his group will be able to rise to the occasion and this match will allow the young people to gain experience for the rest of the season.
The Tarn visitors should also make rotations and coach Mickaël Bertrand hopes for the return of injured or suspended executives like Beletti or Carme.
Everyone has in mind the next championship match where Théo Abitteboul’s partners will travel to Grisolles.
For this 32nd Occitanie Cup final, the Cadurcien coach “hopes that the two teams will engage more and take advantage of this match to put on a good show”.
