A cultural weekend, where reading enthusiasts, enthusiasts and the curious will be able to discover a variety of works and participate in different activities.

Authors, associations, publishers will be present from Saturday November 16 to Sunday November 17, 2024 at La Gravette, for the 33rd edition of the Book Fair. All genres will be represented there, the opportunity to meet all the writers unearthed by the fine team of the cultural center, Nathalie Fouraignan and Camille Le Guyader, both librarians.

This journey through all the worlds of puts regional authors in the spotlight on Saturday with the presence of Claudette Sérès, as passionate about writing as she is about the riches of the land, she will present her latest work: Once upon a time there was a postmaster retracing the journey of Serge Bégué. For Sunday, a thrill day is planned where crime novels and thrillers will be highlighted with all the ingredients to captivate readers. “A large part of the writers come from applications. We look at what they offer, if it corresponds to what we want, another part, these are our favorites. The readers of the media library are a good resource”, explains Camille.

The associative arc is well represented, the Coeur du Lys with a game, like a treasure hunt through the city's merchants. Envol and Jean-Phil des Perles present to raise funds for their charities.

The highlight of this weekend could be the presentation of the City Prize at the time of the inauguration which aims to reward an author residing in Occitania for its first edition. The jury is made up of members of the Autour des Lettres association. “The Salon is hand in hand with the association,” explains Camille. Simone Schnitzler, secretary of the association adds with a big smile: “We exist through them, without them (the team from the media library which organizes the entire show) It would not be the same scale at all”.

Although the Show has grown in size, it remains above all anchored in a family atmosphere with numerous activities for children, meetings, signings, conferences and an escape game. “More and more activities are being offered which would bring it closer to a festival around reading,” adds Camille.

Described as a flagship event by the municipality, this Fair is well established in cultural life and impatiently awaited by Saints-Lysiens. This edition promises to be particularly interesting due to the personalities of the authors present.
